KOCHADAIYAAN THE LEGEND
Rajinikanth starrer Kochadaiyaan's teaser, which was launched by the crew recently, got a mixed response from the audience and Rajini's fans.
Few people were also disappointed for featuring the actor in cartoonist manner. In response to this,
Soundarya Rajinikanth Ashwin, who is directing Kochadaiyaan, has cleared that it is an animation movie but, not a cartoon, and explained the differences between cartoon and animation.
Talking to a leading daily, Soundarya said, "In India, people think animation is cartoon. Avatar was animation, but is not a cartoon. Tintin is completely cartoonistic. I am creating Rajinikanth, where he has actually performed, it's captured on a camera and then put into a 3D version."
Kochadaiyaan is based on the life of Pandiyan king Kochadaiyaan Ranadhiran. The movie is made using the 3D motion capturing technology.
Director Soudarya also expressed her happiness for completing the project soon and said that they have taken a road, which was never taken in India before and completed the film in just a year and a half.
Soundarya said, "First and foremost, it was such a blessing directing him in my first film. I would say 'action' but even when the scene was over, I would not say 'cut' as I just wanted to continue seeing him perform."
seeing Rajinikanth's perform so brilliantly, Soundarya got excited and began applauding. This apparently was quite an awkward gesture for Rajinikanth (as she was directing him).
OFFICIAL TRAILER
soundarya wanted Rajini to take breaks and have his meals on time. She said, "The daughter in me came out at times like that, the fan in me came out when I enjoyed his performance and the director in me came out when I had to finish the schedule of the day. I was aware and conscious of his health."
Soundarya, who is marking her directorial venture with Kochadaiyaan said that she is the biggest fan of her dad and aware how his fans wishes to see him.
Soundarya said, "I am aware of the responsibility of directing him as his fans want to see him as he is, I being one, too."
